Announcements

The Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) announced the winners of its fifth annual MITX Technology Awards at a ceremony last night in the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge. These awards recognize innovative technologies developed in New England.

MITX gave out awards in 14 categories which ranged from recognition of qualities such as “innovative business strategy” and “usability,” to acknowledgment in areas of strength for the New England technology economy, such as enterprise technology, data protection, and mobile and video software.

As a leader in next-generation Universal Search and video search engine optimization (video SEO), EveryZing, won in the “Content Management/Search” category.

EveryZing’s solution uses pedigreed speech-to-text technology to unlock the contents of multimedia audio and video files, enabling them to be searched the same way as text. This enhances the discoverability of the content by large search engines, and thus, drives the content’s video search engine optimization (video SEO). Through its technology, EveryZing is helping media companies and other infotainment sites to drive audience reach, site engagement and contextual monetization of their online audio and video content.

“This prestigious honor comes during an exciting period of growth here at EveryZing,” said Tom Wilde, CEO.

We have recently launched several new products, ezSEO, ezSEARCH and RAMP, helping to establish EveryZing as a complete solution provider for next-generation universal search and search engine optimization (SEO) technologies. Being named a MITX Award winner is an impressive recognition of our technological advancement and the online audio and video search capabilities we’re providing for our customers.

Big changes at EveryZing this morning. First, we issued an exciting announcement here detailing our two new products, ezSEO and ezSEARCH . With these products, for the first time audio and video content producers have the ability to integrate all of their content into the “search economy” with our unique approach to video search and video SEO. The search economy is the billions of consumer searches and billions of dollars of revenue surrounding these searches that happen every month. The key to the search economy is text, and EveryZing’s unique ability to generate highly accurate, timestamped text from audio and video files means all of your content is visible and discoverable inside the major web search engines. Further, the text enables users to easily search across content catalogs and even within audio and video episodes with our patented “jump-to” technology.

Through the fall we have been working with a number of new customers including Boston.com, Entercom Radio’s WEEI.com, Reuters, and Dow Jones to help them deliver these great features to their end users, and we are looking forward to announcing more customers we are in the process of launching over the coming months.

Finally, you’ll notice our website has changed dramatically to highlight and detail our solutions to content producers. The consumer facing multimedia search site still exists at http://search.everyzing.com, and we will continue to offer this as a demonstration of our technology.

We are thrilled about our new products and the great customers we have the pleasure of working with. We look forward to an exciting future and welcome your feedback.

This week Boeing introduced their much anticipated Dreamliner commercial aircraft. Touting itself as a “super-efficient” airliner using carbon fibre in 50% of the fuselage and engines which burn less fuel. The craft can carry up to 250 passengers at distances up to 8,200 nautical miles.

The unveiling of the craft was quite a spectical with visitors and staff actually getting close enough to the jumbo jet to touch it. The airline industry also seems to be excited about the new jet, with 677 orders already placed.

We recently created a video tour of www.everyzing.com to give users an overview of the site. You can watch the video here or in the Zing Index on EveryZing’s home page.

We have a new name and a new look! EveryZing.

The new name reflects an expansion of our services as we’ve rapidly added all kinds of online audio and video in addition to our catalog of podcasts.

The new site also highlights EveryZing’s unique ability to aid discovery, improve consumption, and increase targeted advertising opportunities of audio and video content for online content producers and publishers.

  • We’ve introduced Channels so users can now search or browse to find topics of interest.
  • We’ve expanded the text and the text snippets next to the Player so users can navigate within a single piece of media to pinpoint the exact location of a topic or key terms.

Give it a go and let us know what you think.

Are you a creator of audio or video? Do you have a website?

If you answered yes to both these questions, PodZinger is about to make your content MUCH easier to find. As part of our latest site enhancement, we have added the ability to create your very own PodZinger search box for placement on your website.
Here’s an example of how it looks (we apologize for the low-quality image, it’s really much prettier!):

Now you can allow your audience to search all of your audio and video content the same way they search for anything on the web. PodZinger searches the spoken words within your audio and video, not just the titles and meta-data. This provides more opportunities for your audience to find the good stuff in your material.

To get your customized search box, you will first need to sign-up with PodZinger, register your content, and follow the simple instructions in our “notices” section.

We are proud to announce the release of a new, larger video player on PodZinger! For easier viewing, the size of the player has increased to 480 x 425 pixels. We’ve also introduced the new ZingLinks set of features, which include:

  • the ability to embed audio and video on a users page via PodZinger generated html code
  • the ability to send audio and video to friends via a PodZinger generated url that will bring you directly to the content
  • the ability to email audio or video to friends directly from the player

I’ve posted a clip of a pretty cool commercial on Toyota trucks. Or go to the PodZinger page directly to take a look for yourself
